About the Couple

Becca met Kyle on the second day of her new job in May 2017. Kyle was hard to miss - he had just climbed Mount Saint Helens and forgot sunscreen so he was radiating the sun’s heat from the corner of the office. They quickly became work pals, with a shared love of screaming goat videos and morning coffee breaks. Among her circle of friends, Becca started referring to Kyle as her work crush.

Becca joined the work cycling team, and after a group ride the two had an accidental date at McMenamins in Queen Anne. Soon after, Kyle went on a backpacking trip and decided, with the support of his trail buddies Catie and Richard, to let down his guard. The day after he arrived back in Seattle, Becca and Kyle met for a date, and they have been together ever since.

In the three years that followed, Becca and Kyle have spent a lot of time hiking, biking and adventuring in Kyle’s camper van. They moved to West Seattle in February 2019, and are excited to add a member to their family: Ralph, a scruffy terrier mix, will be arriving from Texas a week before the wedding.

Becca

Becca hails from the prestigious town of Auburn, WA. She lived on the east coast and the Midwest but the Pacific Northwest will always be home. She enjoys waking up early on the weekend, drinking wine while cooking, being outside, and salty crunchy snacks. Emotions are her super power. Ask Becca about: triathlons, trash TV, and living that gluten free life.

Kyle

Kyle grew up in Kansas City, MO, but has lived in Seattle for 10 years. Kyle enjoys outdoor gear, data, sad music, and casseroles. Researching is his super power. Ask Kyle about: bikes, keyboards, and coffee equipment.

About the Wedding

The wedding will take place on Saturday, August 29 at Noon Pacific Time on our back deck. Attendees will be limited to family and our officiant. We will also stream and record the ceremony. Link and streaming info will be sent via Paperless Post.

While we would love to celebrate with you in person, attending a wedding virtually has many perks, including:

Donation Registry

We are skipping the traditional wedding registry. We feel extremely fortunate to be employed, healthy, and live in a safe home and would rather focus attention and resources towards our community members who need support. If you are in a position to make a donation, please consider the following organizations.

If you donate, we would love to know so we can extend our appreciation.

Percussion Farms

We are Percussion Farms, an urban farm in Central Seattle and Auburn whose mission is to reconnect People of Color to the land and help them harvest their right to healthy lives. We do this by providing gardening and food preservation classes, employment and volunteer programs for people leaving the prison system, and growing and giving healthy food to the community.

As our political landscape continues to change, we have strengthened our commitment and urgency to create spaces to aid in the survival and healing of People of Color. We will now need to work even harder to create and depend on our own food sources and cut ties to institutionalized racism in every way possible.

Our revolution will be fought with dirt on our hands, seeds in our pockets and you by our side.
